Extreme weather in the West and Plains brought a heat dome 20 to 25 degrees above normal and fueled the Morrill Fire, which burned over 800,000 acres in Nebraska. Heavy precipitation in the Pacific Northwest and a late-season blizzard in the upper Midwest eased drought in parts of the Midwest.
Drought expansion across the Plains supports wheat and feed grain prices, while Midwest moisture gains limit upside risk to corn and soybeans.
