Late-season weather adds uncertainty to Midwest corn and soybeans

August flooding after more than 12 inches of rain in parts of the Midwest lodged crops and created uncertainty over final yields. USDA's Crop Progress report showed the national corn condition rating fell to its lowest level of the season, and harvest began ahead of normal.

USDA's production update is due Friday.
