Rabobank expects 2021 poultry growth to face COVID-19 disruptions, volatile feed prices and avian influenza. Grain and oilseed prices rose in Q1 2021, partly on unprecedented Chinese import demand, and are expected to stay high through 2021 at slightly lower levels than Q1.
Japan, South Korea, Russia, the EU and UK have been heavily hit by avian influenza.
Persistently high grain prices, which make up as much as 70% of poultry production costs, support feed demand and point to firm grain and meal prices through 2021.
