USDA Economic Research Service analysts expect U.S. rice exports to rise about 13 percent in 2018-19 for long-grain and medium/short-grain rice. All-rice ending stocks are forecast up 53 percent, and prices for all classes of U.S. rice are expected to decline.
Larger U.S. supplies with rising stocks pressure rough rice prices lower, and exports depend on the U.S. becoming more price-competitive globally.
