USTR and USDA announced that a WTO dispute panel found China's domestic price support for wheat, rice and other grains exceeds its WTO commitments. The ruling is the first challenge to China's agricultural policies and the US called on China to comply quickly.
A finding against China's grain support could eventually open market access for US grain exports, but compliance timing is uncertain, so the near-term price effect is limited.
