Diwali for refiners: India’s diesel exports to Europe in September highest since 2017

India's diesel exports to Europe rose to about 291,000 barrels per day in September 2025, the highest monthly level since 2017 according to Kpler. The increase was driven by heavy Atlantic Basin refinery maintenance, a wider East-West diesel arbitrage and reduced Russian product exports.

Exports to Latin America also rose.

重要性

Higher Indian diesel supply offsets tight Atlantic Basin output and eases European diesel tightness. This is a moderating factor for diesel prices, though the effect is limited in size.
