The yuan has fallen about 9% against the US dollar since April. The decline is partly attributed to rising US interest rates, which make dollar assets more attractive to investors.
A weaker yuan can slow Chinese feed demand growth by raising import costs for US and Brazilian commodities. Higher US rates also strengthen the dollar, which typically weighs on dollar-priced grain.
