Asia Rice-Drought-hit Thailand's rates soar to 6-1/2 yr peak on supply dearth

Thailand's benchmark five percent broken rice prices jumped to $460-467 per tonne, their highest since August 2013, as drought cut supply and domestic buyers stocked up. Vietnamese five percent broken rice rose to $390-400, its highest since December 2018, on firm demand from the Philippines and others.
