Rice prices in Bangladesh fell after a bumper boro harvest and new rice reached markets. Coarse rice dropped 10.87% in a month to Tk36-45 per kg, and Miniket fell 6.25%, according to the state-run Trading Corporation of Bangladesh.
Mill-gate sack prices also declined.
Ample domestic supply from a record harvest pushes local rice prices lower, reducing rice-based feed and food costs in Bangladesh. The effect on global rough rice prices is limited.
