Reuters reports that vomitoxin, a fungal toxin, has been found in some US corn harvested last year. Poultry and pork farmers are forced to test their grain.
The finding adds to pressure on growers already facing large supplies and low prices.
Contaminated corn may be rejected or discounted by feed users, widening the spread for clean grain and adding testing costs, which is bearish for affected corn lots.
