The dollar hit a three-week high after New York Fed President Dudley said a tightening labour market would push US inflation higher. Bank of England Governor Carney's comment that it was not the time to raise UK rates sent sterling lower.
The dollar index rose to 97.623, its highest since late May.
Stronger Fed rate-hike expectations lift the dollar, which can pressure dollar-denominated commodity prices and make US exports less competitive. The impact on feed markets is modest and indirect.
