China's central bank set the yuan's central parity rate 90 basis points stronger at 6.6397 per US dollar on Tuesday, October 31. The fixing is published daily by the China Foreign Exchange Trade System and sets the band for spot trading.
A firmer yuan modestly eases the cost of dollar-priced imports for China, which is a major buyer of soybeans, meal and corn. The effect on feed grain prices is small and routine.
