A USDA Economic Research Service report says 26 countries have adopted ethanol blending mandates since 2010, creating potential U.S. export opportunities. The report notes the U.S. already exports DDGS to more than 50 destinations and ethanol to more than 70, but trade barriers could limit future growth.
It also flags cellulosic ethanol as a route to meet future global demand.
