Qatar has nearly sold out its winter LNG supply after committing spare output to China and South Korea. Asian spot prices have already risen 55 percent since September.
Tighter uncommitted supply during peak winter demand raises the risk of further gas price gains in Asia and Europe. Higher gas costs also feed into nitrogen fertilizer and energy costs for feed producers.
