Ukraine exported 71.9 thousand tonnes of vegetable oil by rail in the first 18 days of August, up 55.9% year on year and 19.4% from July. Rail exports of oilseed meal and cake reached 104 thousand tonnes, up 5.6% from July but 13% below last year, with most shipments going through western borders.
Ukraine is shifting oilseed product exports to overland routes because of maritime disruption, which affects logistics costs and the timing of export flows more than total supply.
