Vietnam exported over 5.2 million tons of rice worth $2.6 billion in January-October, up 3.4% in volume and 16.1% in value. Exports to China fell 37.2% in volume, and the average export price rose 13.7% to $503 per ton.
Higher average export prices and a 6.5 million ton full-year target suggest firm Vietnamese supply, while the sharp drop in China-bound volume signals weaker demand from a key buyer.
