A trade finance company report says Indian rice exports should pick up in 2019 as seasonal Middle East demand returns and more non-basmati rice ships to China. Shipments were valued at $183 million in the quarter through November.
The report says exporters may still struggle to get credit.
Expected stronger Indian rice demand from the Middle East and China supports export prices for rice. The effect on feed markets is modest, since rice is a minor feed ingredient.
