The USDA's December WASDE raised projected 2019 wheat ending stocks by 25 million bushels to 974 million, as exports were cut to 1 billion bushels, mainly in hard red winter. Corn carryout on September 1, 2019 rose to 1.781 billion bushels, 45 million above November.
Higher projected carryover in wheat and corn adds to global supply comfort and tends to cap futures prices. The lower wheat export forecast also reduces expected demand for US exports.
