The rupiah fell 27 points to 14,071 per dollar on Thursday after the Fed's meeting summary showed a strong US economy and labor market. Analysts said markets expected at least one more Fed rate hike this year, and higher global crude prices also pressured the currency.
Expectations of further Fed tightening strengthen the dollar and raise dollar-denominated import costs for emerging-market feed buyers, while higher crude raises transport and energy costs.
