AHDB reports UK oat plantings are up 8% to an estimated 178Kha, with production possibly topping 1Mt for the first time since 1973 at average yields. Demand is put at about 850Kt, so the UK may need to export around 180Kt amid challenging tariffs.
A large domestic oat crop against finite UK demand pushes surplus into export markets, which pressures domestic oat prices lower.
