West European farmers made rapid wheat harvest progress during a summer heatwave, though rain has slowed work in parts of Germany. France's crop is expected to be large, and Germany's harvest is estimated at 23-23.5 million tonnes, up about 15% on 2018.
Fast harvesting and larger crops in the EU's top producers add to wheat supply, which weighs on prices. Late rain that causes quality loss could limit the bearish effect somewhat.
