Euronext wheat rose in step with Chicago as US crop planting risks weighed on the market. CBOT corn and soybeans fell after the USDA unveiled a $16 billion farm aid package, with wheat dropping on spillover from corn.

On May 23 the USDA $16B aid package pressured corn and soybeans, and wheat fell on spillover, so it plausibly contributed to the selling, but it only partly explains a very large drop.
