Ceres Imaging agronomist John West says Midwest farmers are preparing for another wet planting season, comparable to the record-wet 2019 season. He advises planting corn through early May and notes yields could fall 10 to 50 percent for planting after mid-May.
Wet conditions that delay planting raise the risk of prevented planting and lower yields, which could support corn prices. The effect is still speculative at this stage.
