Pakistan's fertilizer industry signaled a possible urea price increase of Rs 200 per bag if gas companies win their requested gas tariff hikes for 2020-21. SNGPL sought a roughly 100% rise and SSGC a 20% rise.
The industry says the cost would be passed on to farmers.
Higher feed gas costs would raise domestic Pakistani urea prices and could tighten import needs, a modestly bullish factor for urea.
