Taiwan's Flour Millers' Association bought an estimated 91,300 tonnes of U.S. milling wheat in a tender that closed September 23. The purchase included northern spring, hard red winter and soft white wheat for shipment from the Pacific Northwest in November and December.
Prices ranged from about $239 to $281 a tonne FOB.
A sizable Asian purchase of U.S. wheat supports export demand from the Pacific Northwest and firms PNW basis values. It adds to evidence of strong export sales to Asia.
