The Mosaic Company has asked US agencies to impose tariffs on phosphate imports from Morocco and Russia. An advocacy group argues the duties would raise farmer fertilizer costs by an estimated $480 to $640 million and urges the investigation to be halted.
If tariffs are imposed, phosphate import costs rise and domestic DAP and phosphate prices would likely climb, adding to US crop input costs.
