US lean hog futures rose their daily limit on 24 February to the highest level since May 2019. The move followed a USDA cold storage report showing belly and trim stocks at four-year lows and reports of hog losses from disease in China.
Low cold storage stocks and expected Chinese import demand tighten the hog supply outlook, supporting hog prices and sustained feed demand.
