The EU crop monitoring service MARS reported that winter cereal sowing is nearly finished and conditions are generally favourable. Dry weather in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, southern Ukraine and northern Romania has delayed winter wheat sowing and emergence.
Dryness in key Central and Eastern European wheat areas raises some risk to next year's crop, which can support wheat prices. Rapeseed is in good condition, so oilseed supply risk is limited.
