The free market USD rate in Vietnam held near 24,920-24,980 VND per dollar while commercial banks cut their quoted rates for a third straight time. The State Bank of Vietnam trimmed its own reference selling rate by 10 dong to 24,840, and the USD Index rose to about 106.06.
A firmer dollar and a stable dong raise the local cost of imported feed ingredients such as soybean meal and corn, though the recent bank rate cuts ease that pressure slightly.
