Most Asian emerging currencies rose on August 31 as the dollar softened, with the Thai baht and stocks outperforming after the government raised its 2022 growth forecast to 3-3.5%. The baht gained 0.3% as tourism recovered and the Bank of Thailand began hiking rates.
The South Korean won was the top gainer in the region.
A firmer baht and stronger Thai growth outlook support local purchasing power for imported feed, while tourism and export strength support demand for feed and protein.
