Mexico will impose a temporary 50% export tax on white corn until June 30, 2023, citing supply and price stability. Mexico produced about 23 million tonnes of white corn in 2022 and mostly uses it for local consumption.
The tax mainly affects white corn, a food crop with little export flow, so the direct effect on feed corn and U.S. yellow corn prices is limited.
