US July cheese output was 1.162 billion pounds, down 0.7% from June and July 2022, while butter production fell to 157 million pounds. Wisconsin and California output both fell year on year, and Italian cheese output was also below last year.
Lower US cheese and butter output tightens dairy supply, which supports milk prices and limits surplus dairy-feed availability.
