USDA's FAS forecasts Mexico's 2024-25 corn crop at 25 million tonnes, up 7% from 23.3 million in 2023-24, after severe drought. Imports for 2024-25 are projected at 22 million tonnes, 5% higher than the prior year.
Higher Mexican production slightly reduces import needs, but projected imports still rise, so the net effect on US corn demand is modest.
