Kima and Helwan Fertilizer suspended all urea production on July 16 after gas supply to Egyptian plants was disrupted again. Abu Qir halted its prilled urea line, while Mopco and Alexfert continued operating at about 80% capacity.
The halt follows a brief restart in early July after an earlier disruption.
Egypt is a significant urea exporter, so losing plant output tightens global nitrogen supply and supports prices. The outcome depends on whether gas supply stabilizes.
