ING reports that USDA's January WASDE cut US corn yield from 183.1 to 179.3 bu/acre and soybean output below expectations. Corn 2024/25 ending stocks fell to 1.54bn bushels, and CBOT corn reached its highest level since December 2023 while soybeans reached their highest since October.
Tighter US and global corn balances point to higher corn and soybean prices, which increases feed ingredient costs for buyers.
