The Indonesian government has objected to the EUDR, citing unclear due diligence rules, unrealistic demands on smallholders and conflicting geolocation requirements. Deputy Foreign Minister Arief Havas Oegroseno also questioned the EU's enforcement of the FLEGT timber deal.
An EU envoy acknowledged some ambiguities but defended the regulation.
