The US Dollar Index rebounded above 96.60 after Treasury Secretary Bessent said the US has a strong-dollar policy. The index had fallen to near 95.50, a four-year low, after Trump said he was comfortable with a weaker dollar.
Currency swings of this size shift the relative cost of US-priced grains and oilseeds for overseas buyers, but the move is small enough to have limited direct price impact.
