Australian wheat production for 2026-27 is forecast at 31 million tonnes, up 2 million from the prior estimate, according to USDA FAS. The forecast is 14% below the 2025-26 crop of 36 million tonnes, and exports are projected to rise to 24.5 million tonnes.
A larger Australian crop and higher exports add supply to world wheat markets, which is bearish for prices. The El Niño risk to spring rainfall remains a source of upside.
