The Red River Farm Network said the August WASDE was positive for corn, bearish for soybeans and neutral for wheat. The corn yield of 180.7 bu/ac came in below the 182.5 pre-report trade estimate.
Soybean yields were near expectations, but soybean ending stocks were above expectations, and new-crop corn stocks were below the trade guess.
The corn stocks shortfall and yield miss support corn prices. The soybean stocks surprise pressures soybean prices.
