Chinese Ambassador Xie Feng delivered a keynote speech at the US-China Sustainable Agricultural Trade Forum in Iowa. He stressed that China is the largest market for US agricultural exports and the biggest buyer of American soybeans, corn, cotton and hay.
The speech signals political intent to keep buying US farm goods but adds no new volumes or prices. Its market effect is minor and mostly reflects the signing ceremony.
