Argentina's decree suspended export taxes on soy, corn, wheat and their by-products, including biodiesel, through the end of October or until declared exports reached $7 billion. The tax had been 26% on soybeans, 24.5% on soy oil and meal, and 9.5% on corn.
Soybean futures rose about $50 per ton after the announcement.
The tax cut encourages a rush of sales from Argentina, which can add near-term supply, but it also boosts exporter ability to pay and could lift prices. Analysts warned the rush could cap gains.
