Argentina's government reached a deal with maritime pilots to cut their fees by 20%, allowing ship movements on the Parana River to resume. The government also suspended the deregulation measure and agreed to open talks with pilots and state agencies.
Dozens of vessels had been delayed by the stoppage, which affected grain and soy product exports.
Ending the stoppage should clear port congestion and limit delays to soy, corn and wheat shipments, easing upward pressure on export prices. The market impact is modest because the disruption was brief.
