AgRural reported that 98% of Brazil's safrinha corn was planted by late March, versus 90% a year earlier, and 58% of the first corn crop was harvested. In Mato Grosso, farmers had forward sold 50.7% of their 2021/22 corn, below last year's 70.8%.
Fast planting and slow forward sales by farmers point to a steady supply flow and little immediate price pressure on corn.
