U.S. soybean futures fell about 1% on May 13, 2021, retreating from an eight-and-a-half-year high as the dollar strengthened. The USDA projected 2021/22 U.S. soybean ending stocks at 140 million bushels and corn ending stocks at 1.507 billion bushels.
Brazil's 2020/21 corn crop estimates were also lowered.
A firmer dollar makes U.S. soybeans and corn more expensive for foreign buyers, which weighs on export demand and futures. Tight global supplies still limit the downside for feed grains and soymeal.
