The EIA released three weeks of delayed retail diesel benchmark prices after a technical problem halted publication. The series showed a net decline of 4.3 cents per gallon since mid-June, with volatility in between.
Benchmark diesel prices drive most fuel surcharges, so the delayed release resets surcharge calculations across freight. The small net change shows retail diesel holding near record-high levels.
