Western European wheat prices were mixed on Monday as Chicago fell and a weaker euro improved export prospects for German shipments. The EU crop monitoring service reported a sharp drop in the bloc's soft wheat yield, led by France, and kept its below-average maize yield forecast.
A lower EU soft wheat crop tightens European supply and supports prices, while a weaker euro makes EU wheat more competitive for export buyers.
