The IGC forecasts 2026-27 global grains output falling 2.7% to about 2.42 billion tonnes, with maize at 821 million tonnes and wheat at 1.306 billion tonnes. Global grain trade is projected to fall 17 million tonnes, and carryover stocks are seen shrinking 26 million tonnes, while soybean output rises to a record 441 million tonnes.
Smaller corn and wheat crops and shrinking stocks tighten feed grain supply and support prices, while the record soybean crop partly offsets the tightness in protein feed.
