US grain futures fell sharply as the federal government shutdown, now the longest on record, kept key USDA crop, export and supply-demand reports unavailable. Soybeans fell more than 2%, corn dropped 1.25% to 1.5%, and winter wheat lost over 3% on some contracts.
Traders also cited Chinese buying uncertainty and broad risk-off pressure.
