Sterling surges on data boost, more Brexit hope

Sterling rose more than 1% against the euro on solid data and greater Brexit clarity, as traders trimmed bets against the pound. Trade Minister Liam Fox said Britain hoped to adopt EU free trade agreements with around 40 countries after leaving.
