Export hopes offset record U.S. hog, pork production

The US hog inventory on March 1, 2019 was 74.3 million head, the highest March figure on record and part of 15 straight quarters of record-high inventories. Lean hog futures and cash pork prices rallied sharply after hitting lows in February.
